A practice founded in 2011

Legal Climate (Barristers & Solicitors) opened in 2011 in Lagos with a corporate and commercial mandate, and has advised clients at home and abroad ever since.

Origin

Founded to answer before the deadline, not after it.

Legal Climate began in 2011 with one conviction: Nigerian businesses lose more value to slow counsel than to bad counsel. The firm was structured around named accountability — a named partner answerable for each matter, from the first call to the filed document.

That structure has not changed as the practice grew. It is why our clients still reach a partner rather than a queue.

Practice

The transaction and the dispute, under one roof.

We advise on incorporation, governance and market entry; commercial contracts, distribution and finance; land title, leases and development. When negotiation runs out, the same team argues the matter before the Nigerian courts.

Continuity matters: the lawyer who drafted the clause is the lawyer who defends it.

Oluwashina O. Olagbende leads the firm's corporate and commercial practice and supervises its property and litigation teams. He advises corporate clients and institutional investors on market entry, shareholder arrangements, financed projects and contested title.
