Why the Foundation exists
Close to home, carried through.
The Foundation believes education is what lifts a community, and that poverty is one of the main impediments to literacy. Its focus is on the fatherless and indigent, on households without medical cover, and on people whose talents only need a little capital behind them.

01
Fatherless children first
The President lost his own father before he was six weeks old. The Foundation looks for fatherless, indigent children — and has done so since before there was money to do it with.
02
Given, not promised
Materials, clothes and general support are handed over at the start of each academic session, and hospital bills are settled directly.
03
A little capital, a clear mind
What most people need is not a large sum but a small one used well. The Foundation looks for artisans, widows and people living with disabilities who need exactly that.
04
Beyond Lagos
The work is carried out in Nigeria and, where the Foundation can reach, across Africa more widely.

Support / sponsor
Three ways to stand with us.
Every support makes a significant difference to the lives of those the Foundation sets out to empower.
01
Sponsor a session
Cover educational materials, clothes and support for a fatherless pupil at the start of an academic session.
02
Settle a bill
Help pay a hospital bill or buy prescribed drugs for a patient the Foundation is already assisting.
03
Empower a trade
Fund tools or a modest empowerment grant for an artisan, a widow or a person living with a disability.
