Information we collect

We only ask for information we need in order to answer you or to act on a matter. Most of it comes directly from you.

  • Contact details you give us — your name, email address, telephone number, company and the message you send through our enquiry form.
  • Matter information — documents, correspondence and instructions you share with us so we can advise you.
  • Identification and verification records we are required to keep before taking on a client.
  • Recruitment information — your CV, cover letter and references when you apply for a role.
  • Basic technical information such as your browser type, approximate location and the pages you visit on this website.
03

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and tell you whether we can help.
  • To provide legal advice and representation, and to run the matter properly.
  • To meet our professional, regulatory, anti-money-laundering and tax obligations.
  • To send firm updates and legal alerts, where you have asked to receive them.
  • To keep the website secure and to understand which pages are useful.
05

Confidentiality and sharing

Legal professional privilege and our duty of confidentiality apply to everything a client tells us. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for marketing.

  • Counsel, experts, agents and local correspondents instructed on your matter, with your knowledge.
  • Courts, tribunals, registries and regulators, where a matter or the law requires it.
  • Service providers who host our email, website and document systems under written confidentiality terms.
06

How long we keep it

Client files are retained for the period required by professional and statutory rules, generally six years after a matter closes, and longer where a file relates to property title, trusts or ongoing obligations.

Enquiries that do not become matters are deleted within twelve months. Recruitment records are kept for six months after a decision unless you ask us to keep them longer.

07

Security

Files are held on access-controlled systems, correspondence is encrypted in transit, and only the people working on your matter can open it. Paper files are kept locked at our office.

No system is perfect. If an incident affects your information, we will tell you and the relevant authority promptly.

08

Your rights

Write to legalclimate76@yahoo.com and we will respond within one month. Some rights are limited where we are required by law or by our professional duties to retain a record.

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, a particular use.
  • Withdraw consent to firm updates by using the unsubscribe link or writing to us.
09
